About

Sunifiram (DM-235) is a member of the Racetam family and a derivative of Piracetam. It is one of the newest racetams on the scene. It is used popularly as a nootropic that enhances cognitive ability and memory function. Sunifiram is 1000x more potent than other racetams.

It was first synthesized at the Italian University of Firenze in 2000.

Mechanism of Action

Sunifiram is an ampakine that works by triggering glutamate receptors in the brain. It triggers the production and release of acetylcholine, a learning neurotransmitter. Being an ampakine, Sunifiram can pass easily across the blood-brain barrier and attach to the brain’s AMPA-type glutamate receptors, stimulating glutamate production and high neural activation. The result of this is enhanced memory formation and recall.

Sunifiram, as other ampakines, functions as a mild stimulant, boosting energy and clarity, without restlessness or other side effects of things such as caffeine.
